A Stranger, Acquaintance, or Intimate Friend?

Humanity find itself in the most radical experience of our lifetime and the last hundred years, a global pandemic. This whole ordeal has impacted us in ways we still don’t fully know. Buried deeply in the recesses of our hearts have been many thoughts and questions of God. It is likely, if others know you are a Christian, you have been asked about God. Friends, what have you thought? What have you said? The even more important question is this, “Does the God in our head match the God revealed in the Scripture?” Our answers are telling. They reveal whether or not God is just a stranger, acquaintance, or an intimate friend.

Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.

Hosea 6:3

Brothers and sisters, we must share the very same declaration and testimony found in Hosea. For this kind of holy ambition not only delights God, but humbles the mind and expands the very soul of those who wish to contemplate and love God deeply [Psalm 9:10, Luke 10:27]. Join us as we press to know God and who He has revealed Himself to be in the Scriptures. May we not be conceited from our knowledge of God, rather the sweet truths of His divine character cause our mouths to open and say with the Psalmist,

There is none like you among the gods, O Lord,

nor are there any works like yours.

Psalm 86:8

Looking forward to us beholding God together in the coming weeks!

Soli Deo Gloria,

PJL
