News & Updates for October 25, 2021

On Sunday, we continued our First John sermon campaign. Pastor Jeth helped us look at An Ethic for True Virtue from First John 2:7-14.

Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard.  At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.  Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.  Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.  But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:7–11

Also, we introduced a new song by Shane and Shane called “Ancient of Days.” The sermon is now live, and you can listen to the Shane and Shane song below.

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?  Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:1–4

We are excited to celebrate our first baptism at our new home on November 7th! Baptism serves as a picture of our union with Christ. We will have a BBQ to commemorate our first baptism and enjoy a time of fellowship. Please follow the link below if you are interested in baptism or can bring a covered dish!
