Laboring Under the Eye of the Master

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
— Colossians 3:23–24

Brothers and Sisters,

The Bible tells us there are various seasons in life, and the same is true in ministry. Some seasons are marked by ease, others by effort. Yet in every season, the driving force behind our labor is not the approval of men, but the watchful eye of our risen and reigning Master, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord sees. He knows. He rewards.

Beloved, the work before us in the coming weeks is not merely practical—it is spiritual. As we prepare both our souls and our worship gatherings for Easter Sunday, may this be our abiding prayer:

Lord Jesus, let Your servants be found faithful—not just with our hands, but with the eyes of our souls fixed upon You, who died and rose again to accomplish our salvation.

Serving as a Covenant Member

By God’s grace, we are a church marked by many opportunities to serve and minister to one another. As you know, part of our Covenant Membership involves a commitment to service—not only to uphold the mission and vision of Doxa Church, but also to bless the broader congregation and guests through the exercise of your gifts and talents.

At this time, we have a few specific needs related to our Sunday gatherings:

  • Doxa Kids Preschool Ministry. An important opportunity to care for our youngest sojourning saints.

  • Facilities Preparation & Cleaning. A behind-the-scenes but essential ministry that helps prepare the space for worship each Lord’s Day.

If you are a Covenant Member and are not currently serving, we kindly ask you to prayerfully consider stepping in to help in one of these areas. Please connect with me directly, or with Caroline Scott, who faithfully oversees the assimilation of members into our Serve Teams.

Social Media Coordinator Role

As we’re all well aware, we live in the midst of the digital age, where technology plays a significant role in our day-to-day lives. While there are certainly liabilities and dangers associated with it, we also recognize technology as a powerful tool—especially for the church.

With that in mind, we are currently looking for someone to serve as a Social Media Coordinator. If you have experience or interest in this area, please review the job description and reach out by email to info@thedoxa.church.

Let me be clear: we are not looking to fill this role in order to launch a marketing campaign or promote a brand. Rather, our aim is simple—we want those who visit our social media platforms to see who we are and know that we are a God-Centered Church Gathering weekly in this community to proclaim Christ and walk in faithfulness.

Easter Sunday

Easter is fast approaching. Like Christmas, it is one of those unique times of the year when many who do not regularly attend church are willing to join a worship gathering. Let’s keep this in mind as we engage in conversations with lost family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Jesus said, “I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice” [John 10:16]. We believe it is through the faithful proclamation of God’s Word that these sheep hear the voice of the Great Shepherd and come to Him.

Pray that:

  • We, along with other Christians, would be both sensitive and bold to take the opportunities the Lord provides.

  • The Spirit would draw people to hear the Gospel and respond in faith.

  • Our gatherings would glorify Christ and clearly display the beauty of the Gospel.

We will hold an earlier gathering at 7:55am on Easter Sunday to help free up seats for the 9:30am worship gathering, where we anticipate more guests. If you’re able and have older children or teenagers, please consider attending the earlier gathering and serving during the 9:30am.

The 7:55am gathering will not have any kids ministry available. If you’re bringing guests to the 9:30am, we encourage you to sit with them and help make them feel welcomed and at ease.

Arrows & Quivers Parenting Campaign

Please be in prayer for our upcoming Arrows & Quivers parenting campaign launching April 27th. This campaign will explore biblical parenting through the lens of Psalm 127:3–5, aiming to encourage and equip parents to faithfully train and release their children as “arrows” for God’s glory.

Pray that:

  • Parents would be strengthened in their calling and refreshed in God’s grace.

  • The campaign would stir hope and conviction in the hearts of those raising children.

  • Gospel fruit would come from this season of intentional focus on the family.

Serve Day

On Saturday, April 12 from 8:00am to 12:00pm, we will hold a church-wide Serve Day at our building as we prepare for Easter Sunday gatherings.

We’ll tackle a variety of projects including painting, landscaping, and electrical work to steward our space with care and welcome guests with excellence. Whether you’re skilled in a specific area or simply willing to lend a hand, your help is valuable and appreciated.

If you plan to serve, please be sure to sign up via the link below so we can plan and prepare accordingly.

I’m grateful for you and for all the families that make up this fellowship. We find ourselves in a full—yet joyful—season of ministry as a church. Please remain prayerful and engaged with the opportunities for both prayer and service.

As Easter approaches, may we prepare not only our facilities but also our hearts for the most important moment in all of human history—God’s work of redemption through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save sinners.

Laboring for the Master,
